Mon-11-Apr-16 (11H00) Three vehicles stolen during an armed robbery on Erasmus farm in Glen Marais recovered by the Police abandoned on the corner of Pretoria Rd and R23 fifteen minutes later (GP, Ekurhuleni District, Kempton Park, Glen Marais, Erasmus farm)
Wed-13-Apr-16 (00-05H00) Victim and his wife attacked during the early hours of the morning when 2 suspects gained entry to their residence. Suspects attacked the couple with a panga but the victim fought back forcing the attackers to flee. Suspects made off with a cellphone UPDATE 4 suspects broke into a second residence 2 hours later 2 km away from the first victims and attacked a second family. A suspect (30) was taken in for questioning but released again (EC, Cacadu District, Port Elizabeth, Crockarts Hope, Greenbushes, off Tembani Rd, small holding)
Tue-12-Apr-16 (05H00) Farm attack averted after police received a tip off and after coordinating with the farming community set up a roadblock. Police exchanged fire with the suspects at the roadblock before taking 4 into custody, 1 of whom was wounded in the exchange. All four suspects face charges of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition (EC, Cacadu District, Ndlambe Municipality, Port Alfred, Shaw Park area)
Mon-11-Apr-16 Owner of a small holding shot and wounded a suspect in his house during the early hours of the morning. A second suspect is reported to have fled on foot. Mon-11-Apr-16 (09H45) Worker investigating a carpet over an electric fence disturbed 3 armed suspects. Suspects fled in a dark blue Volkswagen Caddy pickup. 1 suspect reported as about 1.7m tall with dreadlocks and a rusta cap. Mon-11-Apr-16 (02H30) Residents woke up when a suspect moved a curtain in their room and pointed a firearm at them. Victims pressed a panic button activating a siren causing the suspects to flee. Security companies responding to the incident discovered that 3 suspects had been involved in the incident. GP, West Rand District, Mogale Municipality, Nooitgedacht, Copperhouse Rd, Small holding)
Sun-10-Apr-16 (Overnight) Elderly couple, male (77) and female (70) attacked and assaulted on in their farm residence near the D380, 5 Km from the town Nottingham Road. Victims sustained head injuries and bruising to their wrists (KZN, uMgungundlovu District, uMngeni Municipality, Nottingham Road)
Sun-10-Apr-16 (14:00) Zap Lupinis pistol whipped by 3 black males whereafter they threatened Zap’s wife Anita on the couples small holding # 18 Nooitgedacht. Suspects escaped with cash, TV, jewelry, and a .38 revolver. (GP, West Rand District, Mogale City Municipality, Muldersdrift, Nooitgedacht # 18)
Sun-10-Apr-16 Incident on Willem Burger’s farm on the Wagposroad in the Kleinfontein area. 6 armed suspects have fled with a white double cab cruiser Reg# JLH 037 NW. Heritage Protection Group and South African Police Service responding to the incident. UPDATE Family unhurt during the incident, follow up groups found numerous items of evidence during the search. Sun-10-Apr-16 Incident reported in the Buffelsdrift area north of Pretoria. 5 Suspects overpowered and restrained a family. The husband was able to escape and get help. (GP, Tswane Municipal District, Buffelsdrift)
Sat-09-Apr-16 (09H20) Incident on Sandvlei farm when suspects entered the residence and opened fire. Two residents wounded and a third only lightly injured. The wounded have been moved to hospital (WC, City of Cape Town District, Somerset West, Farm Sandvlei)
Sat-09-Apr-16 (Early hours of the morning) Group of 8 suspects split into 2 groups of four and raided 2 cottages on a small holding on Java Road, Nooitgedacht. Suspects gained entry into the first residence and fired rounds through the windows of the second. Suspects fled before security companies arrived (GP, West Rand District, Mogale Municipality, Nooitgedacht, Java Rd, smallholding)
Fri-08-Apr-16 (21:10) Adrie Conradie’s family attacked and overpowered on their farm in the Bothaville area by 4 suspects dressed in police uniforms. Suspects fled with a firearm, cash and cellphones. 1 suspect has been caught (FS, Lejweleputswa District, Nala Municipality, Bothaville)
Fri-08-Apr-16 (Overnight) 6 Suspects poisoned dogs before overpowering a guard and gaining entry via a window to overpower residents. Suspects fled on foot with cash, jewelry and clothing (NW, Bojanala District, Madibeng Municipality, Mooinooi, Elandskraal)
Mon-04-Apr-16 (Overnight) Lourens van der Schuf and one of his workers attacked on his farm by a group of 10 black males when he found them on his farm after they cut his fences. Suspects used staffs (knopkieries) to assault the pair. A case has been opened with the police (MP, Gert Sibande District, Pixley Ka Sema Municipality, Volksrust, Spitskop)

Wed-30-Mar-16 Ndlovu shack dwellers armed with spades, hammers and placards started numerous fires on the 62 hectares of land owned by the Sunday’s River Housing Trust claiming the land was stolen from their ancestors. Landless Crisis Committee chairman Kevin Foster said: “We have now decided to occupy specific parcels of land until our demand is met . . . our plight is terrible.” Their demand is for the government to intervene and give residents the land (EC, Nelson Mandela Bay, Municipality, Colchester)
Sun-20-Mar-16 (01H00) Armed robbery on the farm Protec near Dullstroom. Gang of 5-6 males, one with an automatic weapon and the rest with handguns raided a guesthouse. The suspects held up the resident and reportedly forced 2 guests to drink a substance that put them in a coma (confirmation pending) before fleeing in the direction of Machadadorp in a white Toyota Hilux Reg # ND 653123 ?? UPDATE Thu-24-Mar-16 HPG assisted in the investigation and follow up of the below case and have in conjunction with the police arrested 2 suspects believed involved. Well done to all involved. UPDATE Tue-29-Mar-16 Additional suspect arrested by HPG in connection to the incident on Protect in Dullstroom on Sun-20-Mar-16. So far HPG have arrested 3 suspects. UPDATE wed- 13-Apr-16 Heritage Protection Group arrested a suspect during an investigation that led them to Gaphaahla Siyabuswa. Sat-27-Mar-16 (Overnight) Saddles stolen from Zambezi Stables a smallholding in the Derdepoort area.
Fri-25-Mar-16 Suspect arrested by Maser Security and farm workers after he broke into a worker’s house on Riversmead farm, Izotsha. He was armed with a knife and a BB gun. Well done. (KZN, Ugu District, Hibiscus Coast Municipality, Izotsha, Riversmead farm)
Thu-24-Mar-16 Incident reported on Henry Geldenhys’s farm outside Nelspruit. Dark metallic silver 2007 Mazda Drifter Reg # DNG 284MP stolen during an armed robbery. No further details at this time (MP, Ehlanzeni District, Mbombela Municipality, Nelspruit,)
Mon-21-Mar-16 (19H30) Grant Casey (48) shot in the hip and shoulder on his farm Hill View in the Schagen area outside Nelspruit when 2 suspects opened fire on him sitting on the back porch. The suspects then overpowered Anekea and the children and tied them up before ransacking the house. Suspects fled with electronic goods as well as the victims vehicle leading to a shootout with the police near Malelane. 3 suspects dumped the vehicle and fled on foot after the shootout. Sun-20-Mar-16 Planned attack put to a stop by the presence of an organized farm watch out patrolling. Informant reports the suspects decided against carrying out their attack. Good work. (L, Mopani District, Greater Tzaneen Municipality)
Mon-21-Mar-16 (Morning) Female victim found murdered on a smallholding located on the corner of Beyers Naude Dr and Marina Str, Roodepoort (GP, City of Johannesburg Municipality, Roodepoort, vicinity of MGRS 35J NM 9053017222)
Sun-20-Mar-16 (11H00) Incident on the farm Springbokkuil. 3 Black males involved in the incident, 1 was caught. The owners were not hurt during the incident. (MP, Gert Sibande District, Govin Mbeki Municipality, Secunda, farm Springbokkuil)

Sat-19-Mar-16 Bodies of a male (24) and female victim found on a farm near Rustenburg. The report indicates the male was stabbed and the woman shot. Police are investigating (NW, Bojanala District, Rustenburg Municipality)
Sat-19-Mar-16 (19H45) Richard Vickers (49) shot and killed on his farm Tipperary near Rookdale by 2 black males when he stepped outdoors to smoke near Bergville, family assaulted. A second male staying nearby pursued the suspects and exchanged fire with them but was unable to capture them. Suspects fled with cash. Sat-19-Mar-16 Land invasion opposite Dunoon on Green Acres farm. Thousands of people started marking off plots of land with some being bussed in by taxi’s. UPDATE Police intervened and put a stop to the problem setting off a violent protest resulting in the arrested of 4 protestors (WC, City of Cape Town Municipality, Dunoon)
Sat-19-Mar-16 (08H30) Rudy Degenaar shot on a farm near the Tweefontein Mine road near Steelpoort. 4 black males gained access to the victim’s residence and shot him whereafter they plundered the house and fled in his vehicle. The vehicle was recovered at 09H20 in Sekhukune. The victim was transported to Dilokong hospital and transferred to Netcare in Polokwane, Rudy is out of ICU but still in hospital (L, Sekhukhune District, Greater Tubatse Municipality, Steelpoort)
Thu-17-Mar-16 (Overnight) Couple overpowered and tied up by 3 black males on a farm in the Kameelfontein area. After ransacking the house, the suspects fled with the couples Nissan X Trail and Hyundai Accent. UPDATE Vehicles recovered in Mamelodi. Thu-17-Mar-16 (07H00) Thys van der Bank attacked and overpowered by between 5- 7 black males on his farm alongside the Enselsberg road outside Zeerust. 2 Suspects fled in a white Nissan X Trail and the others on foot. Agri-Sector 1 is reacting to the incident and Oom Thys has been moved to a Rustenburg hospital with an axe wound to his arm. Tue-15-Mar-16 (Overnight) Kobus Visser (54) the head of Millennium Security stabbed to death by suspected stock thieves after reacting to a call out by the owners of a farm near Bredasdorp (WC, Overberg District, Cape Agulhas Municipality, Bredasdorp)
Tue-15-Mar-16 (09:45) Heleen Beukes attacked and overpowered by 4 suspects on the farm De Doorns near Modderdrift farms. They fled with cash and loose items where after the Hexvallie farming community caught up with them and arrested 5 suspects (WC, Cape Wine Lands District, Breede Valley Municipality, Modderdrift)
Tue-15-Mar-16 Kagiso Nkedi (30) pleads guilty to all charges (rape, assault, robbery) of an 82-year-old victim during a farm attack. Claims it was part of the “struggle” and the reason for raping her is because she is white. Feels no remorse and asks for correctional supervision as its his first offense. He has another outstanding farm attack and rape case against him. First charge, rape 15 years, second charge robbery and assault 10 years. 25 years effective. Tue-15-Mar-16 Farm guard (55) found killed in a guard house with his hands and feet tied. The farmer woke up when he heard a security gate being forced and fired warning shots forcing the suspects to flee. Incident occurred on a farm between Waterval Boven and Belfast. (MP, Nkangala District, Emakhazeni Municipality, Emgwenya/ Waterval Boven)
Mon-14-Mar-16 (17:40) Fanie van Hansen (13) was able to warn his mom Tilla van Hansen that 5 black males were waiting to ambush them as they returned to their residence on one of the Hasivuna plots near Morokolotsi outside Tzaneen on the old Lydenburg Road. Suspects rushed them and Fanie ran to the neighbors to alert them. Suspects ransacked the vehicle and fled with a mobile phone, keys to the property and safe keys. 3 Suspects had handguns and 1 had a panga. This is the second attack on the family in the last month. Mon-14-Mar-16 (12:00) Johan Le Roux (61) beaten to death by 4 suspects, 3 men and 1 woman on a farm in Renosterspruit (near Lanseria), Guateng. Second victim assaulted. Suspects fled with victim’s gold Toyota Land Cruiser Reg # JTJ 349 GP and a second vehicle. A vehicle was recovered in Soweto and 3 suspects have been arrested on a smallholding in the Renosterspruit area in connection to the attack. The female suspect is Johan’s domestic worker (GP, West Rand District, Renosterspruit)
Mon-14-Mar-16 Wian van der Westhuizen and Fanie Oosthuizen appear before a new magistrate in connection with the death of Samuel Tjiza and Simon Jubba who were caught by the farming community in the follow up after an attack on a local farmer. UPDATE: Both released on R20,000 bail by Magistrate Ronnie Mnguni.
Mon-14-Mar-16 (Morning) Incident on a small holding in the vicinity of Marikana near Madibeng/ Brits. Woman hit with a fire extinguisher and the suspects released the contents into her and her husbands faces. This is the same place where relatives of the couple were attacked Dec 2015 leaving the Oom dead and his wife seriously hurt. Mon-14-Mar-16 (05:00) Family attacked on a farm in the Agatha area of Tzaneen by 6 armed black males. Suspects gained entry to the house by forcing the door whereby Greg met them in the Kitchen. Greg Wilson (34) wrestled with the suspects where after they hit him on the head with a rock. Suspects fled with a mobile phone and handbag. Greg was moved to hospital, his wife and kids not physically hurt. A farm security guard was stabbed in the stomach by the fleeing suspects and the community detained 2 suspects sitting in a vehicle close to the incident (L, Mopani District, Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Agatha)
Sun-13-Mar-16 (13:00) Gillian Caroline Foster beaten with a hammer and stabbed with a screwdriver, her condition is serious but stable. Botania Holiday Resort CAS/90/03/2016 UPDATE Wed-16-Mar-16 ARRESTED Boykie Esau Motsaung in Heidelberg and the vehicle recovered in connection to the hammer and screwdriver attack on Sun-13-Mar-16 involving Gillian Caroline Foster at Botania Holiday Resort (L, Waterberg District, Mookgophong/ Naboomspruit Municipality, Botania Hills Holiday Resort)
Sat-12-Mar-16 (Overnight) Armed robbery, 6 armed suspects tied up victims and fled with stolen goods. Will update if more info comes in (GP, Bumbi Mahlangu farm, Apies river)
Fri-12-Mar-16 Ernest Mashudu Nevhulamba (21) was found guilty of murder and robbery with aggravated circumstances and sentenced. Nevhulamba’s accomplices will appear in the North Gauteng High Court again from 9 to 13 May for sentencing. The five accused have been in detention since they were arrested a day after Jobling was murdered on his farm in Skeerpoort on 1 September 2012.
Fri-11-Mar-16 (Overnight) Nico Ras (31) shot in stomach and back (RIP) and JJ Venter (25) shot 4 times in the upper torso, condition critical. Gang of 4 black males using 2 shotguns and 2 handguns. Cellphone stolen. (NW, Bojanale District, Madibeng Municipality, Kameeldrift West, Sector 4)
Thu-10-Mar-16 (23:00) Andre Botha (39) shot twice from outside the house through a glass door where after 4 black males tied up his wife and 3 children before ransacking the place. Andre was moved to Akasia hospital. Reported as a well planned attack on the resident. Note: This is a very active area with a number of incidents over the last period. Wed-09/ Thu-10-Mar-16 Family of 4 beaten to death, male (73) son (42) sons fiancee (46) and fiancee’s daughter (9). The missing silver Mercedes was found in Greenhills. This is very nasty. (GP, West Rand District, Mogale City Municipality, Doornfontein farms)
Tue-08-Mar-16 (Overnight) Three members of a seven man Zimbabwean gang escaped from police custody in Groblersdal overnight. They are connected to a farm attack in Bloempoort. The guy in the green top is a Zimbabwean soldier (L, Sekhukhune District, Elias Motsoaledi Municipality, Groblersdal)
Mon-07-Mar-16 Four suspects, Bruce Mho (23) Trymore Nyube (23) Daniel Lismart (27) and Anton Moyo (27) appear in court for the murder of Dr Louis John Botha (64) on a farm in the Swartwater area. They were arrested last year in the Groblersdal area in possession of Mr Botha’s cellphone and firearm.
Mon-07-Mar-16 (08:33) Incident in the Dreyden small holdings area near Delmas. Armed robbery by 4 black males armed with a AK47s and 2 handguns. They fled with in a stolen white Nissan TIDA Hatch Reg# DNY 817 MP (MP, Nkangala District, Victor Khanye Municipality, Delmas, Dreyden small holdings)
Mon-07-Mar-16 (18:00) A gang of 5 black males, 3 of them armed tied up a worker and thereafter waited for the owners to return before robbing them of their cellphones, cash, and keys. (L, Mopani District, Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Tzaneen, Hasivuna smallholdings)
Mon-07-Mar-16 Anton Phillip Verwey (67) found murdered with 2 open wounds to his stomach earlier in the day on a farm in the Ixopo area. Police were able to catch the first suspects within 4 hours and so far 6 black males have been arrested aged between 14 and 24. The suspects were found in in possession of Mr Verwey’s 2 bicycles, a plasma TV, computer, laptop, cellphones and other items. RIP (KZN, Sisonke District, Ubuhlebezwe Municipality, Ixopo)
Sun-06-Mar-16 (Overnight) Family overpowered and robbed by 4 suspects, 3 black males and 1 white male wearing police uniforms driving a black Pathfinder. They fled with a stolen white Toyota Fortuner with CA plates as well as a Mazda BT50 cab and a half with Reg # CK 39619 (WC, Cape Town District, Malmesbury, Joubertskloof, Bosgaarsfontein)
Sun-06-Mar-16 (17:00) Mr Coventry (72) and Mrs Coventry (66) attacked and assaulted on their farm near Bergville by a gang of 4 black males. Their dog was shot when it tried to protect them. Suspects fled on foot with cash, an iPhone, documents and 2 firearms. Police and ambulances responded. (KZN, uThukela District, Okhahlamba Municipality, Bergville, on D564 Rd)
Sun-06-Feb-16 (14:00) Community protest reported on the farm Welbedacht (WC, Cape Winelands District, Drakenstein Municipality, Wellington, Groenkloof, Welbedacht)
Fri-04-Mar-16 Incident in the Sterkstroom area of Ventersdorp where a farm shop was raided by several armed suspects. Suspects fled with cash and alcohol (NW, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District, Ventersdorp Municipality, Sterkstroom area)
Fri-04-Mar-16 (01:30) Two black males forced their way into a farm worker’s residence and demanded cash. The farm worker and his wife did not have cash so the suspects fled with their cellphones. This incident occurred 2 hours and around 2 Km from a previous incident with Chris and Eileen Els ((NW, Bojanala District, Madibeng Municipality, De Wildt area)
Thu-03-Mar-16 (23:30) Chris and Eileen Els were woken up by the dogs and when Chris went to investigate found 2 black males, one armed with a handgun attempting to enter the house. Eileen alerted a neighbor who fired shots causing the suspects to flee (NW, Bojanala District, Madibeng Municipality, De Wildt area)
Thu-03-Mar-16 (Overnight) Carel van der Merwe (48) was shot in the neck down into his chest on Rd 16 in the de Wildt area by one of 2 black males. Suspects fled with his cellphone. Carel was moved to Montana ICU. Note: Suspects may be linked to 2 additional incidents in the area over the same period (NW, Bojanala District, Madibeng Municipality, De Wildt area, Rd 16)

FEBRUARY 2016
Sat-27-Feb-16 Victor Lorimer (55) and his brother Alfred (65) attacked again but this time AfriForum neighborhood watch were able to capture 4 Mozambican nationals (GP, Ekurhuleni District, Emfuleni Municipality, Mantevrede area)
Thu-25-Feb-16 (02:00) Victor Lorimer (55) and his brother Alfred (65) attacked in their house on a smallholding in Mantevrede area. Victor was slashed and stabbed during the altercation and Alfred who is half blind joined in the struggle. The suspects fled (GP, Ekurhuleni District, Emfuleni Municipality, Mantevrede area)
Sat-20-Feb-16 Joe Klerk wounded in an incident on a smallholding Klipkop near Bronkhorstspruit east of PTA. He has been moved to a PTA hospital. No further details (GP, Tswane Municipality, Bronkhorstspruit)
Wed-17-Feb-16 (20H30) farmer opened the door to give a worker cool drink and a short time later a gang of 7 black males stormed into the house and whilst overpowering the family the farmer was shot through the ear (flesh wound). During the attack 6 shots where fired by 4 of the attackers. The family where ordered to lay on the ground and the attackers demanded the safe keys. The wife and daughter were moved to another room and during this time the daughter was raped. A neighbor suspected something was wrong and went to the house with some of his workers and raised the alarm. Suspects fled with cash, cellphones, jewelry, and electrical appliances. The community reacted to the incident and closed off and started searching the area. 2 suspects were caught during the searches with items linking them to the crime. 5 Other suspects escaped with a Toyota Ventura. The 2 suspects in custody will appear in the Groblerdal court on Friday 26-Feb-16. Over 60 vehicles and a 100 personal were involved in the cordon and search for the suspects (L, Greater Sekhukhune District, Elias Motsoaledi Municipality, Groblersdaal/ Bloempoort)
Wed-17-Feb-16 (Overnight) Tyron Harding (26) was shot in the hip on a smallholding in the Tiegerpoort area east of PTA. Tyron went out to investigate why the dogs were barking and was shot as he approached one of the outside doors standing open. No further info at this time. (GP, City of Tswane District, City of Tswana Municipality, Tiegerpoort area, smallholding)
Wed-17-Feb-16 Johannes Coetzee (32) shot in the shoulder on the farm De Erf. Upon stopping at his home he was attacked by 2 black males and shot in the shoulder before he could take cover behind his vehicle. The two suspects than fled the scene. Johannes drove to the police station and reported the crime and was taken from there by ambulance to hospital. Police reacted to the incident with air and ground units and arrested 1 suspect in his late 20’s. The second suspect is still at large. It later transpired that the suspects had ransacked Mr Coetzee’s house before he arrived on the scene and used a firearm that they had stolen from the house to shoot him with (FS, Xhariep District, Kopanong Municipality, Edinburg, farm De Erf)
Tue-16-Feb-16 Alfonso Mpofu (25) re-arrested after the community in Majakaneng reported him to the Mooinooi police. He escaped police custody on the 5-Feb-16 along with Chris Sithole (24), Zimbabwean Gibson Msimango (25), and Ontse Lebese (27). Fri-12-Feb-16 Four farmers appeared in court again over the deaths of 2 suspects caught in the follow up after a farm attack near Parys earlier in the year. NOTE: Suspects died in police custody and there appears to be problems with the case against the farmers. Hawks have taken over the investigation and Police Captain Henk Prinsloo has also been arrested in connection to the death of the two suspects. UPDATED The case has been rescheduled to the 15th April. Judge has stated that the case will not be delayed again.

6-Feb-16 (01:00) Gideon Steenberg (38) and his wife Annetjie (30) attacked in their house on a farm near Delmas by 3 armed black males. Suspects cut the electric fence and broke open the front door to gain access. After tying up the residents, assaulting them and threatening to rape Annetjie the suspects proceeded to ransack the house and load the stolen items onto a pickup. Annetjie was able to free herself and Gideon who had hidden a cellphone and he alerted the Sundra Bulldogs, a community watch who reacted to the incident. Gideon and Annetjie were not seriously hurt during the incident but were very traumatized by the incident. 31-Jan-16 (01:00) Mrs Steyn (84) was assaulted and overpowered by 3 black males, 2 of them armed with handguns in the Klipkop area near Brits. The suspects tied Mrs Steyn up whilst they ransacked the house and fled with a small amount of cash, jewelry, TV, and bank cards. Mrs Steyn’s son alerted the community which reacted to the incident. Late report of an incident for Saturday 30-Jan-16 on the farm Doornkop in the Carolina district. Heritage Protection Group and the South African Police Service have arrested 3 suspects linked to the incident whereby Mrs Blake (89) was assaulted and robbed. She was overpowered, tied up and suspects cut her face with a knife. The captured suspects are linked to other crimes in the area as well and a .38 revolver and mobile phone were recovered. 30-Jan-16 (18:04) Incident on a farm in the Piet Plessis/ Malopo area near Kadebis. Shots fired after which suspects fled the scene in a silver vehicle which was stopped by the community. 29-Jan-16 (Overnight) Dr Bennie Cilliers (RIP) shot and killed and his wife Cecelia wounded overnight on the farm Gouda in the Rouxville District, Free State. Suspects have fled in a White Toyota double cab pickup with Reg # DXK 167 FS towards Aliwal North and found abandoned in Bloemfontein at a taxi parking lot. Farm workers found the pair tied up at around 09:30 and Cecelia was flown to Medi-Clinic, Bloemfontein with a gunshot wound to the head. UPDATE 30-Jan-16 (22:00) Two suspects (30),(42) have been arrested in Bloemfontien in possession of a camera, laptop and bottle of brandy. 26-Jan-16 (21:30) Incident on a farm in the Oribi flats area near Paddock whereby a farmer (70) and his wife (67) were attacked inside their home and overpowered by 4 black males in the Oribi Flats area near Paddock. The suspects ransacked the house and forced the farmer to accompany them when they fled in his vehicle. The farmer was dropped off after 7 km near the Illovu Sugar Mill, Port Shepstone and his vehicle was found abandoned in Umlazi near Durban. 26-Jan-16 (Overnight) Oom Hans van Der Walt and and his wife Anreëtta assaulted and overpowered by 4 black males in their house in the Sandrift/ Klipkop area near Brits. Anreëtte was able to free herself and raise the alarm alerting PPS security and the Klipkop community which responded to the incident. Oom Hans was assaulted and sustained a fractured skull. 20-Jan-16 (11:10) Three suspects armed with knives gained access to a woman’s house on the Sterkspruit holdings and waited for her to return before overpowering her and demanding the safe keys. Mon-18-Jan-16 (06H00) David Strauss (76) and his wife Ann (73) attacked and stabbed to death by Ntokozo Mbuyazi (21) and Mpilo Ngema (20). The suspects received information from the victims gardener that the couple had a safe with lots of money in it and they went to the couples home at 02H00 and waited in the garden until 06H00 David emerged from the house. They crawled towards the victim and stabbed him as well as his wife when she emerged to try and help him. The failed to open the safe so plundered the house and loaded the loot into the victims Nissan Almara in which they fled. Mbuyazi was arrested the following day riding around in the couples stolen vehicles and was encouraged to cooperate with the police. Ngema was arrested on the 27th January. Ntokozo Mbuyazi (21) and Mpilo Ngema (20) pleaded guilty before judge Yvonne Mbatha to murdering the couple, robbery with aggravating circumstances and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. Both men said they are remorseful and asked the court for mercy.The case was postponed to May 3 pending these reports. 16-Jan-16 (16:45) Incident on the farm Geelhoutboom near Panbult on the Amersfoort road. Oom Bernie van Zyle (84) was assaulted and killed (RIP) during an attack on his farm and Charlotte Giddy (53) that was with him was also badly assaulted and has been moved to Ermilo hospital. Community and police reacted to the incident and caught 1 suspects recovering stolen items and 2 weapons. This is the second time the pair have been attacked on the farm. 15-Jan-16 (00:00 – 03:45) Two farm workers from the farm Welgeluk in the Heilbron district were able to protect themselves from harm when they were attacked early this morning (Friday, 15 January 2016). According to the information shared with the VKB/FSA Safety Desk the 56-year-old Samuel Mokoena and his wife (already in her sixties) were woken by their barking dog early this morning. There was knocking at their door. The suspects allegedly told Mokoena that he must open the door as a Mosea is looking for him. He refused to do so, as the only Mosea he knew has passed away. The attackers then kicked in the door, and as two of them entered the house, Mokoena hit them over the head with his cane. The suspects had an ax and a knife with them. The suspects also tried to stab the Mokoenas with a stick, which Samuel’s wife grabbed and hit them with. Mokoena’s phone is out of order, but he pretended that he was talking with Hannes Myburg, the owner of the farm, and the attackers fled the scene. The Mokoenas went to the neighboring farm, Bloemhof, were his brother and Myburg lives. Myburg was phoned at 03:45 and he immediately called the Police. He says the Police reacted quickly on the call. As far as he knows nothing was stolen. Mokoena’s wife received her pension yesterday, and it is suspected that the attackers wanted to steal the money. 8-Jan-16 Incident on the farm Hermansdam between Edenville and Kroonstad and owned by Barry van der Berg. 3 black and 1 white male, impersonating police detectives, heavily armed, arriving in a 3 series silver/ charcoal BMW tied up Barry van den Berg, his wife, Christa, a farm worker Pitso Maloisane, and his wife, Mirriam Ramphora before making off with a Ford Ranger and 1 firearm. 30 farmers responded to the incident and the Ford Ranger was found abandoned at the Koppies turn off, Heilbron Rd. having run out of fuel. 5-Jan-16 (23:00) 3 black males, 2 of whom were armed forced their way into the house when the owner opened the door to let the dogs out. The suspects tied up the family up with cable ties and took the wife and kids into another room while they beat the owner demanding cash. A shot was fired in the process but the victim was not injured by it. The suspects plundered the house stealing the TV, jewelry and cash. The suspects soaked the family’s cellphones in water before fleeing with the families Ford Ranger pickup.
