I have live on this great continent for my entire life, but now it’s time to pack up and head out of here as soon as we can.
I’ve had quite enough of the lunacy of this land and their despotic leaders. Our economy here in South Africa is a joke, and despite recent talks to stabilize the troubles at the mines, I doubt there will be any positive outcome from this.
We decided about 10 months ago to seek ‘greener pastures’, even if the ‘poop is deeper’ there according to some people. We however know a good lot of ‘poop’ can produce a very fertile land and hence and abundant crop. 🙂
So, in less than two months we head off to the EU zone. Well, I would say its a wise decision as most of my family have now left for lands far over the merry seas from Africa. We all have lives and loved here but know that staying on is futile, especially for the future of our children. We will likely never be able to retire here as our Rand currency depreciates, so too does our investments and annuities. The cost of living here has escalated to the point of no return and with the current Eskom (our electricity supplier), having endless problems with no solution we deem viable to solve the ever growing energy crisis, well, we would prefer to have our lights on here in ‘darkest Africa’ thanks.
And this leads us on to the second reason for us leaving; our very lives!! It is absolute fact right now, that the average life of a ‘white’ South African is dispensable; i.e. we are not considered valuable enough as citizens to even make mention of the alarming statistics of our murders, and no, not by our fellow ‘white’ citizens, but by our ‘black comrades’. Yes, they lie to the world about the sterling democratic nation we have; The Rainbow Nation, and how wonderful our constitution is, when the only prevalent colours of our ‘flag’ are; black for the ‘citizens who are able to live freely here with very little threat to their safety and belongings, work education etc; then ‘green’ for the envy they feel towards us ‘whites’ to the point that no matter if they now rule this nation, they still want our stuff and have been raised to believe that robbing and killing a ‘white’ person is their legal right and its definitely NOT stealing!! Finally red, the colour that most represents our nation; the colour of bloodshed, mostly the whites, though it is quite normal and acceptable for them to turn on their own mothers, sisters etc. raping and torturing them too, just not as viciously as they do this to ‘white’ women!
I for one have already had to flee from Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and have resigned myself to the fact that life is truly a circle, repeating itself. It is my hope that this next move will be our last, because I can tell you, selling everything bar our beds and some precious belongings, leaving behind our home and family behind, is no easy feat. I have the privilege of being able to get my family thanks to my Father who came out to Africa at age 9, and having him and both Grandparents born overseas. But many of my family members do not have this ‘ticket outa SA’, and are well and truly stuck here. What is really frightening is that many of them are not even aware of how vulnerable they are as ‘white’ people living here and have no idea what is lurking beneath the surface. Why? Well, they refuse to see the truth as they close their ears to news and reports from genuine sources who are investigating our ‘genocide’, as they can’t take the reality hereof.
I can understand their thinking as to learn that you may be extinguished as a people, that your children have no future due to legislation being passed that prohibits them from studying at a tertiary level, from gaining employment and from owning land or businesses. So, where does that leave us?? Well and truly screwed!!!
I cannot risk this and as hard as it is to just go, without certainty of work that side or a place to stay, I’d rather take a chance there then succumb to the communist brutality of this nation’s leaders and black Africans.
So, we say ‘Adieu Africa’, in particular South Africa. God help you as we leave loved ones behind and wave a sad goodbye, with teary eye, not for what is, but always for what was pre 1994!!!
