The stream of racism against whites intensified during the commemoration of Communist Chris Hani’s death.

ANC leader Jacob Zuma described the multiracial protests last Friday, as a racist attack and racists are no longer afraid of being caught. He said that the white citizens despise blacks.

But what Zuma was not prepared to say, was said at the event of the executive mayor of the Ekhuruleni municipality, Mzwandile Masina. This went as far as to barely conceal threatening whites. By saying that the ruling party is supported by the majority, and are fed up with keeping quiet when attacked. “We ask nicely, for you to stop dividing our country, because those who have stood by you in 1995, will not be here in five years, and if you continue to do so, things might get rough over the next five years.”

He made the assertion that white South Africans are showing black South Africans the middle finger. He said it is high time that this tendency of white South Africans “to give us the middle finger because they have found a newfound confidence must come to an end. There is no other place in the world where 5 million people think they can govern over 42 million people.”

Observers point out that both Zuma and Masina are trying to recharge the racial climate against the whites, with the result that an increase in attacks against whites can be expected. Also, they have their facts wrong too, as more blacks participated in the protests against Zuma. While South Africa is the only country in the world where the black majority protect him from racist laws made against the working white minority.
